Question by 11111: Can open heart surgery at 9 days ancient cause brain destruction or problems?
When i was nine days ancient i had to go into open heart surgery for 45 minutes and my brain and everything was shut down. could that cause any problems to me later on in life or now that i don’t know in this area?

Unless it was performed by a shady guy in a back path, the doctors knew what they were doing.
You’ll be fine, if you had brain destruction it would be sweet clear at the time after surgery.

Question by : Is catheter ablation categorized as an open heart surgery?
Hi, I would just like to question if catheter ablation is categorize as an open heart surgery? I want to verify this because my friend needs an ablation to right his WPW which goes with SVT. We have to know if this will be covered by his medical insurance but they said that ablation cascade below open heart surgery and he has no coverage for that, but seeing all the similes of ablation, I do not believe that it is an open heart surgery. please enlighten me on this.

Open heart surgery is a surgery in which the uncomplaining’s chest is opened and surgery is performed on the heart. The term “open” refers to the chest, not to the heart itself. The heart may or may not be opened depending on the fastidious type of surgery.
Radiofrequency ablation is done using minimally invasive procedure.
Consult a cardiologist.

Question by Robyn: Can anyone tell me how they are doing 18 mos after open heart surgery?
I had open heart surgery 18 mos ago and still have tightness around the incision and the chest plate feels gray. I was wondering if others have experienced this and other effects. I can’t seem to find out info on recovery past the year mark.

I had open heart 1 year ago. The incision is fine, but itchy once in a while. I still have pain in my ribs when I sneeze or cough or even yawn sometimes, though. It’s a major surgery and there are bound to be lasting effects. I am not a surgeon or cardioligist, so I would suggest that you call your Doctor and question for a follow up visit. Enter down any questions you may have before hand so you don’t forget anything. It will ease your mind. Hope I’ve helped.
